Environment Space

Be provoked. Experience others’ views on environmental challenge. Consider the world in 2020 – the culture, the mix of young and old people, effects of climate variation other related issues. Resource Sharing. National – international – global? Environment and Millenium Development Goals. Extreme events. Can we open our hearts to climate refugees? What are the ethics of climate? Technology opportunities and challenges.
There will be half hour workshops and opportunities to open discussions at other times:

Xpression Space

Xpress yourself on film: computer, mobile, TV screens. What is 2020 going to be like? Get your thoughts together and share them with the world, straight to youtube and facebook. Learn how to put together key messages to make your 3 minute vid count.
Barcamp Sydney will be here – put your name down to run a workshop. Hear from tech innovators on what they are doing – discuss intensely and have your say. Presentations, demos short sharp sweet with loads of discussion – many to many.

Re-Xpression Space

Join with designers and xperts to create new from old.
Re-Think, Re-Xpress your world.
Re-xpress you and your stuff. Re-style your old clothes into new. And old stuff into new. Re-Xpress your city. Retrofit your city with urban forests, urban food. Vertical gardens, rooftops and balconies.
Make music out of old toys, drink bottles and electronics: circuit-bending innovation with a twist
Ecodesign Principles: Redesign Sydney to fit the future world we are creating. How can we apply these ideas to new enterprises, products and services?
Idea bank: Drop your idea in the idea bank to see if it gains enough support to be chosen for a mentored project.
Join Engineers without Borders making sustainable stuff. Find out how they are creating positive futures and be inspired.

Xternal Space
PERVASIVE GAME Can you lead in a world without borders? Team up with friends old and new to play this mixed reality game. Face the challenges of the future and in teams, develop new approaches. Extra points for bringing in friends from around the globe to face the future together. Bring your mobiles and turn your bluetooth on.
Barcamp Sydney -A barCamp is an ad-hoc gathering of technologists born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. Intense event with discussions, demos, and lots of interaction. Also in some of the tents.
Picnic Discursives – open discussions on the future at the many picnic blankets around the venue and breakout spaces from other workshops
Stalls – other community and small enterprises and mindful food
Soap Boxes – you know you want to – get up and have your say – Be heard. And hear from others.
Walk a Mile is about acknowledging the experiences of our indigenous people. Take a minute out to walk in indigenous shoes before making decisions. Join with artist Darren Bloomfield at the Aboriginal Tent Embassy to paint shoes for a collaborative future.
